Excavations/Works

Non-excavation Works

When adding the details of the works to a surface, a new type is available called Non-excavation works.

This new works type can be used for recording details of works to roadways/verges which, whilst not requiring an excavation, require a licence as they may affect traffic or affect the surface of the road and can be selected for works such as inspection chamber opening or cabling works.

The following applies to Non-Excavation Works:

No reinstatement deposits or long-term impact charges.

Surface details required are limited to:  Part of the Road, Traffic Impact and Length.

Each works segment surface must be marked as Complete or Works Not Done.

No guarantee period will apply for a licence that only has non-excavation works or works not done.

Date reinstatement completed

When closing an excavation, the date that the reinstatement was actually completed must be provided.

New Reinstatement Types and Actions

A reinstatement can now be identified as being a temporary reinstatement or (permanent) complete reinstatement.

An applicant may also indicate if a surface requires reinstatement by the licensing authority.
