Excavations/Works

Non-excavation Works

When adding the details of the works to a surface, a new type is available called Non-excavation works.

This new works type can be used for recording details of works to roadways/verges which, whilst not requiring an excavation, require a licence as they may affect traffic or affect the surface of the road. This should be selected for works such as inspection chamber opening or cabling works.

The following applies to non-excavation works:

No reinstatement deposits or long-term impact charges.

Surface details required are limited to:  Part of the Road, Traffic Impact and Length.

Each works segment surface must be marked as Complete or Works Not Done.

No guarantee period will apply for a licence that only has non-excavation works or works not done.

Licences with Non-Excavation Works marked as Complete

If a T5 has been submitted for a licence that only contains non-excavation works marked as Complete then the Accept T5 option will be shown.

An option will be provided to close the licence early if deemed appropriate.

Licences with Works Not Done can be pushed from T5 Sign-off to Closeout

If a T5 has been submitted for a licence that only contains works with a status of 'Works Not Done' then the Accept T5 option will not appear. Instead, the licensing authority can push the licence from T5 Sign-off to Licence Closeout by selecting the Close out Licence option.

Licences that fall into this category can be found on the Licensing Tasks lists under the Inspections > T5 Signoff - No Excavation menu.

Date reinstatement completed

When closing an excavation (including for non-excavation works), the applicant must enter the date the reinstatement was actually completed.

New Reinstatement Types and Actions

A reinstatement can now be identified as being a temporary reinstatement or (permanent) complete reinstatement.

An applicant can now state whether a surface requires reinstatement by the licensing authority.
