A T2 or T3 (Road Opening) licence is required to excavate a section of public road (i.e. roadway, cycleway, footway or grass verge) and to carry out the reinstatement of the same. should be non-emergency in nature for the purpose of e.g. telecoms, sewer works, water or gas mains connection or the survey of undertaker's apparatus. 1.Select the T2-T3 application option 2.Choose either T2 or T3 from the licence category on the Works Details tab of the licence application. Please carefully check the information stated next to each category as the limits vary between roads authorities. An application to carry out works of moderate impact due to the location, extent, amount or duration of the work. A T2 licence requires time for approval and works notification. |
Emergency works are defined as works which must be expedited immediately in order to prevent or reduce injury or damage to persons or buildings. A T4 notification should be created as soon as possible. Applicants should endeavour to create this before commencing works. In the event that this is not possible, create the notification as soon as time allows and enter the date and time that work commenced. |
A T1 notification must be submitted for works involve a number of roads and/or works affect bridges or at sites of engineering difficulty. The road opening tab on the T1 can be used to add the T2's for roadworks required that will be linked to the T1. As soon as time allows, all remaining details regarding the location, affected areas and works carried out should be filled in and the application submitted. |
